The incident occurred about 3:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Voorhees Street in Teaneck. The 26-year-old woman told police she was removing her 4-year-old daughter from a car seat when they were attacked by the dog, police said. A contractor working nearby heard the commotion and was able to chase the dog away, McGurr said. The mother and daughter were taken to Englewood Health hospital for treatment of bites and other injuries, police said.
The mail carrier was taken to Holy Name Medical Center by members of the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps. for his injuries, McGurr said.
