A pink MDMA tablet in circulation has sparked an urgent health warning ahead of a festival weekend in Sydney.

New South Wales Health issued a statement on the pill, which is a square shape and imprinted with the Gucci logo and name, on Tuesday.NSW Poisons Information Centre Medical Director Dr Darren Roberts said high doses of MDMA have caused serious illness and death in the state.

“It can cause severe agitation, raised body temperature, seizures or fits, irregular heart rhythm and death,” he said in a statement. “Other risks include taking MDMA in combination with other stimulants, such as amphetamines or cocaine.”
