Singaporean actor Gurmit Singh recently gave the public a rare glimpse into his personal life as he spoke about his eldest daughter Gabrielle., revealed he had initial reservations about his daughter’s unconventional career path.“So she has taken that path, and it was difficult at first... She does a show that’s not TV-friendly, for sure,” the 59-year-old comedian said.
Despite their differing perspectives on career and life choices, Singh emphasised his unwavering love and support for Gabrielle.“She’s still my flesh and blood. I’ll still be there in the blink of an eye if she needs me,” he added. Singh likened this experience to his own journey, recalling his parents’ reactions when he chose to become a comedian and actor instead of a lawyer, judge or policeman, as they had hoped for.“It may not be what I want her to be or what I had hoped she would choose, but as long as it’s legal and she’s happy with it, I’m happy with it,” he said.
