A hilltop home that Walt Disney built during the Great Depression in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz near Griffith Park is available to lease for the first time.Known as Walt Disney’s Storybook Mansion, the 6,388-square-foot house designed by Disney studio architect Frank Crowhurst and completed in 1932 is a blend of French Provincial, French Tudor and Neo-Gothic architectural styles.
The home is now owned by Timur Bekmambetov, a Russian-Kazakh filmmaker known for such films as “Wanted,” “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” and the 2016 remake of “Ben-Hur.” It’s held in an LLC.Since taking ownership, Bekmambetov has restored the house he now rents out. A manicured landscape with a large lawn and brick-paved walkways surrounds the house. There’s a trellis-covered dining patio off the side entrance.
