Woodbury hosts annual 5K to combat bullying (PHOTOS)

Woodbury Police Host 1st Annual 5K and 1 Mile Run, Walk and Roll Against BullyingA throng of people in South Jersey spent Saturday morning walking and running to take a stand against bullying., an annual event in the Gloucester County city.

People either took part in a one-mile walk or a 5K run, traveling through the West End area of the city, around Bell Lake. The event is co-sponsored and organized by the Woodbury Police Department and various other organizations, including the Hispanic Family Center of Southern New Jersey, the Child Advocacy Center of Gloucester County, Pinnacle Treatment Centers, On the Record music store, and Sound Advice & Video home entertainment store.

“Many students, parents, school districts, and even many in law enforcement feel hopeless at times when dealing with bullying,” Woodbury City Police Chief Thomas Ryan said in a statement.Gloucester County offers a myriad of resources aimed at bettering the mental health of those affected by bullying.
