Mysterious flying objects have been in the news recently in the Sault

Reader and photo contributor Bob McGauley captured images of something floating in the skies along the shores of Lake Superior north of the city this morning and submitted them to SooToday, speculating as to what the object might be.

Balloons and other flying objects have been in the news recently, with a Chinese spy balloon shot down over the U.S. West coast making headlines in April. There are places near us that are launch locations for balloons. Gaylord, Mich., is one location from which balloons are launched by the U.S. National Weather Service.
