The inflationary and post-pandemic pressures that created a fiscal chasm at Saskatoon city hall will likely be felt throughout Saskatchewan.
In Saskatoon, the shortfalls would require property tax increases of 18.56 per cent and 6.96 per cent over the next two years, or a cut in services.of the Land of the Living Skies. Toronto is facing a pandemic hangover shortfall of $933 million this year, and that’s after a property tax increase of 5.5 per cent.
In Vancouver, city council imposed a 2023 property tax increase of nearly 11 per cent after a jump of more than six per cent last year.
