World famous musical The Phantom of the Opera will now play in KL from June 15 to July 7 due to popular demand.

PETALING JAYA: Originally scheduled to play for two weeks in Kuala Lumpur, performances for the world famous musical The Phantom of the Opera has been extended by one whole week due to popular demand.Andrew Lloyd Webber’s popular musical is based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux and tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known as the Phantom who hunts the depths of the Paris Opera House.

Unaware of Christine’s love for Raoul, the Phantom’s obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness and passions collide. The musical became the first stage production to gross US$6 billion worldwide. Over 140 million people have seen The Phantom of the Opera in 37 countries and 172 cities. It is performed in 16 languages.

The Phantom of the Opera contains some of Webber’s most famous and stirring music, including The Phantom of the Opera, Think of Me and Music of the Night.
