All 10 members of the Philippine shooting team here were not yet born when Adolfo Feliciano struck a gold in the 1958 Tokyo Asian Games.

2021 Olympian Jason Valdez, National Shooting Assoc.Sec. Gen Iryne Garcia, Asian Games rookie Enrique Enriquez and Olympian Brian Rosario Feliciano burst into international fame when he reigned in the 300-meter rifle position, a feat that remains standing until now.Tasked to carry out that mission are 2012 London Olympian Paul Brian Rosario, Tokyo Games veteran Jason Valdez and shotgun ace Hagen Topacio.

Also in the team are Eric Ang, Carlos Carag, Enrique Leandro Enriquez, Joaquin Miguel Ancheta, Franchette Quiroz, Amparo Teresa Acuna, and Elvie Baldivino. Ang is the oldest in the current batch at 52, but is perhaps one of the successful shotgun shooters being a Beijing Olympic veteran along with Topacio.

The last time a PH shooter won an individual medal was Jethro Dionisio during the 2002 Busan Games. Dionisio also helped power the team to a team gold with Ang and Jaime Recio as teammates. Shooters from host nation, Vietnam, Korea and Taiwan are expected to dominate the sport that offers 33 golds.
