BREAKING: The country logs 433 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide tally to 2,838,381. The death toll is now at 51,187 with 137 new fatalities while 369 persons recovered, raising the number of survivors to 2,777,818. Active cases are at 9,376.
The country logged 433 COVID-19 infections on Christmas Day, according to the latest report of the Department of Health .
The nationwide tally now stands at 2,838,381. This includes 9,376 active cases or people currently sick - with 3,430 experiencing mild symptoms, 3,337 in moderate condition, 1,777 with severe symptoms, 458 with no symptoms, and 374 in critical condition. Of the 137 new deaths, 14 occurred this month, 26 in November, 45 in October, 32 in September, 11 in August, five in July, three in June, three in May, and one in April.
However, 129 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation by the DOH.
