A total of 5,690 infections of COVID-19 were registered by the DOH from Dec.19 to 25, less than the number of cases recorded the previous week at 7,752. | zacariansINQ
According to the DOH in its weekly report, the registered infections translated to a daily average of 813, 25 percent lower than the previous week’s 1,082.Only three, or 0.05 percent of these cases, were tagged as severe or critical, bringing the active number of severe or critical cases to 516.
However, 172 deaths were added to the country’s COVID-19 death toll, which is at 65,236 as of Dec. 25, based on the COVID-19 tracker. DOH said 24 deaths occurred in the past two weeks, while the rest were backlogs recorded as early as August 2020.
