A former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has alleged that Peter Obi's group is now fighting him because he refused to join forces with them ahead of the 2023 general elections.
A former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike , has alleged that Peter Obi 's group is now fighting him because he refused to join forces with them ahead of the 2023 general elections. Wike said Peter Obi and his lobbyists lobbied him so much prior to the polls but he turned them down, believing Obi would not win the election. Speaking in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike said he was not ready to waste Rivers votes on someone he thought would not fly.
' They want to fight us back. They're fighting themselves. ' DAILY POST recalls stories of alleged massive rigging of the 2023 presidential election and rewriting of result sheets in favour of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Rivers State. There were also reports of political thugs allegedly deployed by Wike compelling voters to cast their votes for a particular candidate and also stories of votes buying.
