Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party has backed Nigerian youths
seeking opportunities abroad.
Obi donated N50 million to Peter University in Achina/Onneh and N10 million to the School of Nursing Sciences in Adazi-Nnukwu. He encouraged the students to view studying abroad as a valid option if their goals are not achievable in Nigeria. He promised that the nation would improve, closing the opportunity for migration.Obi also shared a personal anecdote about his former personal assistant, Michael-Jude, who had migrated to the UK and is now studying alongside his wife, a nurse.
Earlier at Peter University, Obi urged students to pursue academic excellence, describing education as a transformative force for national development.
