After dropping the eponymous designer’s final archival collection on Wednesday, the TomFord brand has announced new executive leadership as The Estée Lauder Companies completes the acquisition.
Tom Ford’s new leadership has been named. Guillaume Jesel has been appointed president and chief executive officer of the brand, and Peter Hawkings will fill Ford’s shoes as creative director. The Estée Lauder Companies also said on Friday that it had completed the acquisition of Tom Ford for $2.8 billion. Zegna Group will license the fashion and accessories business, while Marcolin Group will license eyewear.
Jesel takes the helm from his position leading Tom Ford Beauty since 2014, before which he held roles at Estée Lauder and Mac Cosmetics. On Jesel’s appointment, Ford said in a release: “Guillaume is an exceptional leader, with not only a strong business understanding of beauty, but a great understanding of fashion as well.”
Hawkings is a longtime collaborator of Ford’s, who says he has been instrumental to the brand’s success. The incoming creative director began his career at Gucci in 1998 before joining the Tom Ford brand in 2006. “In Peter Hawkings the brand has found the perfect creative director,” Ford said in a statement.Photos: Courtesy of Tom Ford
