In announcing today the government is pushing ahead with the Voice to Parliament almost exactly as it was first proposed, the Prime Minster has “essentially ignored” all the debate about it, says Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“And all the reservations and objections that people of goodwill have raised, many of them, indeed people who have long supported, perhaps less extreme than this … constitutional recognition of Aboriginal people,” Ms Credlin said.
“In making it crystal clear that the government has come to a position, and that not to support this position is, in effect, to vote for a worse Australia – a less kind, a less respectful, a less decent Australia, that’s how the PM has pitched it – now the ball’s in the Opposition’s court.
