The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, is making gains but still trails Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in the state ahead of its 2020 primary on February 11.
Sanders is on top with voters under 50 years old at 44 percent. Second is Buttigieg at 17 percent and third is Warren at 13 percent, according to the latest Emerson poll. Among voters over 50, Buttigieg leads at 31 percent, then Sanders at 20 percent, and Biden at 17 percent.
The New Hampshire 7 News/Emerson College poll of 500 registered Democratic and independent likely voters was conducted February 5-6 by landline, cell phone, and an online panel. There is a margin of error of plus or minus 4.3 percent. "For us, this is a campaign that a year ago I think a lot of people were questioning why we were even making the attempt," Buttigieg said.
