Supervisor Aaron Peskin is openly considering a run for mayor
Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin said he plans to meet with San Franciscans across The City in the coming weeks as he contemplates a run for mayor.
Peskin would join a growing field of candidates with substantial resources, deep connections to San Francisco politics, or both. “That’s why I’ve been elected three times to be the president of the Board — because I get along with my colleagues and bring people together,” Peskin said. In a recent GrowSF poll of San Franciscans that included Peskin as a candidate, he placed second behind Breed in the percentage of voters who find him favorable. But he also placed second-highest in unfavorable ratings behind Breed, signaling that while voters already tend to have an opinion on Breed and Peskin, they’re less familiar with the other candidates.
