A murder investigation is underway in North Carolina after a person was shot and killed at a fast-food restaurant, according to authorities.
Authorities say a homicide investigation is underway in Hendersonville, N.C. after a person was killed at the McDonald's on Monday, Oct. 9, 2023. The Hendersonville Police Department said officers responded to a call shortly before 11 a.m. Monday.
Detectives, as well as police cruisers and emergency crews, were spotted at the scene outside an area McDonald's that morning. Police said the victim is a female who caused a disturbance at the restaurant. She does not appear to be from the area and authorities are working to locate and notify any next of kin.
The Hendersonville Police Department said it is appreciative of the assistance provided by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office in the arrest of a suspect. Police added that there is no threat to the public, describing it as an isolated incident. The community is asked to avoid the McDonald’s as the investigation continues.
