Written by Pulitzer\u002Dnominated playwright Tanya Barfield, Bright Half Life spans a five\u002Ddecade love story in just over an hour on stage.
The set, lighting and sound — designed by Hanne Loosen, Jonathan Kim and Clinton Ackerman respectively — is a study in colourful minimalism. The stage evokes a world full of apartment elevators, airplanes, carnival rides and office cubicles with subtle changes of light and sound, and how the two actors move between the hanging kites and metal arches.
This season at Persephone Theatre is all about celebrating love, and Bright Half Life is a fast-moving, ever-changing exploration of a multifaceted love story over time.
