A NSW Liberal government will create a new future fund and pay families to set aside cash for their children’s home deposits and education under a major election commitment that Premier Dominic Perrottet described as a “gift of opportunity” for the next generation.

Perrottet described the $850 million policy as the most significant financial security investment in the state’s history. The crowd, mostly dressed in blue Liberal Party t-shirts were played AC/DC and Katy Perry before NSW Treasurer Matt Kean addressed the room, attacking Labor leader Chris Minns and drawing jeers from the crowd.Perrottet was introduced by his wife Helen, who described him as a “dedicated and loving father” who could “deliver hope” to future generations.

Under Perrottet’s election cornerstone election commitment, a Coalition government would pay parents an initial $400 for children aged under 10, and match their future contributions with up to $400 every year until they turn 18.
