SUBIC BAY, Zambales : The men's team of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA clinched the championship of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 98 beach volleyball tournament open Saturday, January 21, here at the Subic Bay sand courts.
The tandem of Louie Ramirez and Jefferson Marapoc stunned last year's winners Ralph Pitogo and Joshua Ramilo of Emilio Aguinaldo College, 21-10, 15- 21,15-13 to claim the title.The Michael Carino-mentored Perpetual Help team swept the elims, 9-0, and outclassed San Beda University in the semifinals, 21-18, 21-11.Marapoc was also adjudged as the Most Valuable Player of the men's division.
