Perodua has unveiled a new concept electric vehicle at the 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show, featuring a futuristic design and boasting a range of about 400km. The car aims to achieve sub-7 second acceleration from 0-100km/h and is set for launch in 2025.
The concept vehicle was unveiled at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024, featuring a more futuristic design compared to the earlier Perodua eMO-I concept. This hatchback EV boasts a range of about 400km and is equipped with a CATL-sourced LFP battery with a capacity of around 50kWh. It takes about 8 hours to fully charge on AC, and DC charging from 30-80% is expected to take about 30 minutes. Perodua aims for a 0-100km/h acceleration time of less than 7 seconds.
The company plans to launch its first EV sometime in 2025, with an initial production volume of 500 units per month. Perodua is also considering battery swapping, though this feature is still under study. The e.MAS7, a mid-sized fully electric SUV, is the next concept in line, with pricing details to be announced
