The state government of Perlis hopes for a higher allocation from the federal government following the announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to provide additional funding for states compared to last year. The Chief Minister, Mohd Shukri Ramli, stated that this hope is due to Perlis being a state bordering Thailand and requiring sufficient funding. He also expressed the state government's openness to continue the existing cooperation with the federal government. "Thank you to the Prime Minister for increasing the allocation for states, and we hope that Perlis, being a border state with Thailand, will receive more funding," he said after the Launching Ceremony of Op Selamat 22 Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2024 at the BHP Ulu Pauh Petrol Station, here, yesterday.
