Kuching Hasil pemeriksaan ke atas wang kertas itu mendapati ia disyaki palsu.

Timbalan Ketua Polis Daerah Padawan Deputi Superintendan Merbin Lisa berkata, pihaknya yang menerima maklumat berhubung kejadian itu kemudian datang ke lokasi.“Tangkapan terhadap seorang lelaki tempatan berusia 35 tahun dilakukan pada 10.40 malam di kedai makan berhampiran,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan di Kuching, hari ini.

Menurutnya, wang kertas RM100 itu turut dirampas dan kes kini disiasat mengikut Seksyen 489B Kanun Keseksaan.“Suspek sudah direman selama lima hari untuk membantu siasatan,” katanya.“Dia kemudian bermain permainan di sebuah gerai dan membayar menggunakan wang kertas bernilai RM100. “Bagaimanapun, wanita yang juga peniaga gerai itu mengesyaki wang kertas itu adalah palsu dan berlaku pertengkaran antara dia dengan suspek.

“Wanita itu kemudian mengambil keputusan menghubungi Balai Polis Siburan,” katanya sambil menasihati masyarakat khususnya golongan peniaga agar berwaspada ketika melakukan transaksi membabitkan wang kertas supaya tidak menjadi mangsa penipuan wang palsu.
