Avatar: The Way of Water was absolutely dominating the box office and pop culture conversations last December, and it made plenty of money for Disney with its shocking $2.3 billion worldwide gross. The Way of Water became the third highest-grossing movie ever made, and it was the only thing Disney needed to succeed. Percy Jackson might be great, but it’s not going to be anywhere near as successful as The Way of Water, which could prove to be a serious problem for Disney.
