PETALING JAYA: The Perak state government will table its own anti-party hopping law when the new state assembly convenes on Dec 19, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

PETALING JAYA: The Perak state government will table its own anti-party hopping law when the new state assembly convenes on Dec 19, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad .

"If we adopt the law through the Eighth Schedule , we will not require a two-thirds majority to pass the legislation. A simple majority will be sufficient," he told reporters during a media engagement session at St Regis Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Monday night. In the state election held in tandem with the 15th General Election, Perikatan won 26 state seats, while Pakatan and Barisan garnered 24 and eight seats, respectively.
