IPOH: An assistant administrative officer with a state government welfare arm has been fined RM17,000 in default three months' jail by the Sessions Court here for falsifying documents.
Abdul Malek Mansor, who is with Yayasan Perak, pleaded guilty to the charge before Sessions judge Ainul Shahrin Mohamad on Friday .According to the charge sheet, Abdul Malek, 50, fraudulently used a forged quotation form to make it look like a genuine document in the procurement and supply of sportswear amounting to RM63,650 for an interstate sports carnival.Abdul Malek was treasurer of the foundation’s sports and welfare club for the term 2018-19.
The charge was framed under Section 471 of the Penal Code for knowingly using a forged document, and punishable under Section 465 which provides for a jail term of up to two years, or a fine, or both upon conviction.
