IPOH: The disclosure of a special audit report on Movie Animation Park Studios by Perak Pakatan Harapan was an act of revenge, claims Datuk Saarani Mohamad.

The Perak Barisan Nasional chairman said Pakatan had long bore a grudge against them and disclosed the report on Saturday to discredit the former administration."This is only a ploy by DAP to politicise the matter and to divert the attention from issues they are facing," he said in a statement on Sunday ."Pakatan should stop trying to find and create faults of the previous administration and just move on," he added.

State-owned Perak Corporation Bhd audit committee chairman Chong Zhemin had on Saturday revealed that the actual cost to develop MAPS was RM607mil.Chong had during a press conference took a swipe at former Perak mentri besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, telling the latter to explain and take responsibility over the increase in cost."It should be reminded that PCB is a public-listed company with its rules and regulations that are tightly monitored by Bursa Saham Malaysia.

"Its decisions are also monitored and approved by its auditing committee," he said, adding that Dr Zambry was not PCB's chairman then and PCB was only a shareholder in MAPS. "Any related inquiries should come under the jurisdiction of the board and auditing committee," he added.
