IPOH: The Perak State Legislative Assembly is set to adopt the recently passed anti-hopping law by next month, said Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

The Perak Mentri Besar said that a motion to amend the state constitution will be raised during the state assembly meeting in September.“We will bring the Bill to the state assembly to be debated and voted on,” he said yesterday.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said that the Prime Minister will write to all state governments, recommending that they amend their respective state constitutions in line with the federal law following amendments to the Constitution Amendment) Bill .

“We will support the Bill as it will ensure political stability in the government. We have seen the impact of elected representatives crossing from one party to another, affecting the stability of the government.
