After Roe v. Wade was overturned, suburban women like me mobilized their friends and families across Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania House Republicans are blatantly trying to hold on to their power and push their out-of-touch agenda.
I don’t come to this conclusion lightly. For a little context, the 2016 presidential election was a pivotal time for me. I went from being a good citizen who voted, read the local newspaper and volunteered at the Election Day polls to realizing it was time to get more involved. I never thought I’d know about any of this, but now I know how women and families will be directly impacted, depending on which party gets the majority in the State House.
The path to Democrats flipping the State House ran straight through suburban areas of Pennsylvania. I have met so many inspiring women as the Pennsylvania Program Director for Red Wine & Blue. Suburban women researched who was running up and down the ballot, learned who were the extremists and who would fight for working families. They mobilized friends and family to support common sense over chaos.
Sara, a nurse who provides much-needed abortion care services for low-income women in Philadelphia – and knows how women will be impacted by state laws or constitutional amendments that would take away the right to abortion.
