Construction is expected to begin in January 2025 and finish ahead of the 2027 football season.
Plans to renovate Penn State's Beaver Stadium are moving along.The university said Monday that it chose an architect, construction manager and consultant for the $700 million project.Populous, which oversaw the 2001 stadium expansion, will be the architect again. Spearheading the construction will be a joint venture among Barton Malow, AECOM Hunt and Alexander Building Construction.In May, Penn State announced plans to renovate the 63-year-old stadium instead of building a new one.
Reconstruction of the west side of the stadium will get underway at the end of the 2024 football season. Traditional bowl-style seating will be maintained, while club and loge seats and executive and founder's suites will be added.Other renovations throughout the facility include code upgrades and accessibility improvements.
