Joe Hermitt | [email protected] defensive back King Mack has entered the transfer portal, according toMack came to Penn State as a highly-touted prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. The St. Thomas Aquinas standout was a consensus four-star prospect. Mack committed to Penn State in June 2022. The Nittany Lions had to fend off SEC interest to secure his signature.
Tuesday was the deadline for undergraduate transfers to inform their schools of their intention to enter the transfer portal, which opened for a spring window on April 16. Compliance departments have 48 hours to process entries. That means undergrads can still pop up in the portal through Thursday while graduate transfers can show up through Friday.
Penn State also has redshirt freshman DaKaari Nelson and 2024 signees Vaboue Toure and Dejuan Lane set to compete in the safety room. But there was hope Mack would be a future piece of Penn State’s defense.
