Menurut sumber, pegawai berusia lewat 30-an itu disyaki meminta ‘habuan’ itu sebagai balasan memberikan projek kepada beberapa syarikat berhubung kerja-kerja berkaitan sanitasi pusat-pusat mengundi dalam Pilihan Raya Negeri (PRN) Johor, baru-baru ini.

PUTRAJAYA: Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia menahan seorang penjawat awam dari sebuah agensi kerajaan kerana dipercayai meminta dan menerima rasuah kira-kira RM100,000, Jumaat lalu.

Menurut sumber, pegawai berusia lewat 30-an itu disyaki meminta ‘habuan’ itu sebagai balasan memberikan projek kepada beberapa syarikat berhubung kerja-kerja berkaitan sanitasi pusat-pusat mengundi dalam Pilihan Raya Negeri Johor, baru-baru ini. “Suspek sebelum ini dipercayai pernah meminta wang lebih RM130,000 daripada seorang individu pada awal tahun ini bagi kerja-kerja berkaitan sanitasi, namun, individu terbabit hanya mampu memberikan wang berjumlah kira-kira RM100,000,” katanya hari ini.

Beliau berkata, suspek yang bersetuju mengurangkan jumlah habuan yang diminta kemudian bertemu dengan individu berkenaan pada Jumaat lalu untuk menyerahkan wang seperti yang dipersetujui. Sementara itu, Pengarah Bahagian Perisikan SPRM, Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman ketika dihubungi mengesahkan penahanan lelaki tersebut bagi membantu siasatan di bawah Seksyen 17 Akta Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia 2009.Bagaimanapun, hakim Mahkamah Majistret Putrajaya, Shah Wira Abdul Halim membenarkan permohonan lepas reman terhadap suspek dengan menetapkan jaminan SPRM berjumlah RM10,000 tanpa deposit dengan seorang penjamin pada hari ini.
