Penganut agama Buddha di Malaysia hari ini meraikan sambutan Hari Wesak bagi memperingati kelahiran, pencerahan agung serta kematian pengasas agama itu, Siddharta Gautama dengan Tokong Buddha Maha Vihara di Brickfields di sini menjadi antara lokasi tumpuan sambutan di ibu negara.
Di Tokong Buddha Maha Vihara dikatakan kira-kira 20 kereta berhias akan menyertai perarakan sejauh 12 kilometer melalui Little India, Pasar Seni, Jalan Raja Chulan dan Bukit Bintang, hari ini. Hari Wesak menandakan pentingnya penganut agama Buddha menerapkan keyakinan diri dalam agama tersebut dan hidup berlandaskan kepercayaannya.
