Bagaimanapun, Peng Soon-Liu Ying mengakui sudah memberikan persembahan terbaik dan harap ia dapat meningkatkan keyakinan untuk kejohanan seterusnya Terbuka Singapura minggu depan. Kedua-dua pasangan itu sudah bertemu empat kali dan kemenangan Yilyu-Dongping menyaksikan mereka terikat 2-2. Menurut Liu Ying, perlawanan hari ini menyaksikan mereka bukan tumpas kepada pemain lawan tetapi kepada diri sendiri selepas melakukan beberapa kesilapan yang tidak sepatutnya.
