Teo Kok Seong kata sesetengah anggap sekolah kebangsaan 'terlalu bersifat Islamik'.
PETALING JAYA: Seorang pendidik yang lantang menentang sistem sekolah pelbagai aliran menggesa kerajaan mengkaji mengapa ibu bapa menolak sekolah kebangsaan.
“Kebanggaan dan identiti sesebuah negara adalah pada sekolah kebangsaan, tapi ia tidak menjadi pilihan utama ibu bapa untuk hantar anak mereka,” katanya kepada FMT. Menjelaskan mengapa ibu bapa tidak menghantar anak-anak ke sekolah kebangsaan, Teo berkata beberapa sekolah kebangsaan terlalu bersifat Islamik dan mutu pengajaran tidak memuaskan.
Sekiranya kementerian gagal menangani aduan ibu-bapa, Malaysia akan terus mempunyai sekolah pelbagai aliran, mengakibatkan murid-murid berinteraksi sesama kaum sendiri sahaja.
