Allred hits ex-VP Mike Pence for using Ukraine war to ‘score cheap political points’ in effort to build brand for 2024 and separate himself from Donald Trump.
WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Mike Pence unleashed a $10 million ad blitz Monday aimed at building his political brand ahead of 2024, targeting Dallas Rep. Colin Allred and 15 other Democrats with demands to expand U.S. energy production to counter Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The ad urges viewers to call Allred or the other targeted lawmakers to tell them “to support America’s security instead of Russia’s terror.” “It is abhorrent for Mike Pence and the GOP to use the war in Ukraine to score cheap political points,” he said. “This is the same Vice President who stood with Trump as he cozied up to Putin and did nothing while he blackmailed the Ukrainians and withheld the arms they needed to defend themselves.”
