MANCHESTER, England (Reuters) -Manchester City beat Brentford 2-1 to maintain their perfect start to the season after Premier League top scorer Erling Haaland netted twice on Saturday following the fastest goal of the season from the visitors.
GEORGE TOWN : The public is invited to take part in a 3km Maulidur Rasul procession here, which the Penang Muslim League is organising for the 25th year.
Its president, Datuk Seri Najmudeen Kader, said the procession would start at 4.15pm from the Kapitan Keling Mosque in Buckingham Street on Monday, Sept 16."Close to 30 contingents, including representatives from public groups, Muslim non-governmental organisations, companies, mosques, suraus, and housing communities, are expected to participate.
Najmudeen said this year's organising chairman is Datuk Kader Hajah Mydin, adding that the first procession was inaugurated by the then deputy prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in 1999."Over the years, there were between 3,000 and 6,000 participants joining the procession annually," he said. He added that there was no procession for one year during the Covid-19 pandemic.
