A large illegal dumping ground for plastics and other solid wastes has been uncovered near Machang Bubok on mainland Penang,Said to be the size of six football fields, heaps of shredded plastic, furniture and construction wastes were found on the site of the former unlicensed sand quarry.Seberang Prai Municipal Council president Rozali Mohamad confirmed that the dumpsite was unlicensed, and vowed to take action on the parties responsible.
“Contractors are supposed to dispose their wastes at the designated site in Pulau Burung, Nibong Tebal. According to the report, an MPSP enforcement team has already visited the site while several government agencies will send their representatives to the dumping ground today.
