“Thermal scanners have been installed at the two entry points for many years and when such cases happen, we tighten our monitoring at these checkpoints. “These thermal scanners are not only available in Kedah but at every international checkpoint all over the country, ” he said. Penang health committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin, in a statement, had said the thermal screening would be compulsory at all gates for international flights at the Penang International Airport to ensure the spread of the virus can be contained.
