Kelantan Darul Naim FC (KDN FC) suffered another defeat in the Liga Super as they were comprehensively beaten 1-6 by Penang FC at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu. Penang took the lead in the 29th minute through a spectacular bicycle kick from Rodrigo Da Silva , who expertly converted a corner kick. This goal energized Penang, pushing them to further extend their lead against the home team.
However, KDN surprised Penang by equalizing in the 34th minute with a neat strike from Muhammad Shahir Ab. Rashid, placing the ball precisely into the right corner of the net. Kelantan-born player, Nik Akif Syahiran Nik Mat, restored Penang's lead in the 42nd minute with a well-taken shot, leaving the score at 1-2 at halftime. The second half saw Penang emerge with renewed confidence and dominate large portions of the game. Despite this, KDN, coached by Assistant Coach Kamaruddin Muhammad, showed a fighting spirit, relentlessly seeking an equalizing goal to regain control. Penang extended their lead in the 67th minute with another goal from Rodrigo Da Silva, who beat Mohammad Fikri Che Soh, securing his third goal of the match and further widening the gap. In the 82nd minute, Penang were awarded a penalty after a VAR review revealed a foul within the penalty area. Rodrigo Da Silva made no mistake, calmly converting the penalty past Mohammad Fikri to complete his hat-trick, bringing the score to 1-4. Penang continued to pile on the misery for KDN with two additional goals in stoppage time.
