GEORGE TOWN: Penang police crippled two drug syndicates with the arrest of five suspects, including the mastermind, and the seizure of drugs worth RM1,276,331 in a two-day operation.
State police chief Comm Datuk Sahabudin Abd Manan said the suspects were arrested in several raids carried out by the state police contingent and Central Seberang Prai Narcotics Crime Investigation Department since last Friday .The first syndicate was busted when police launched three raids in Bukit Tengah and Bayan Baru that started at 6.45pm on Friday until 8am on Saturday .
"Following the arrest, another raid was carried out in a rented house in Bukit Tengah, which saw the seizure of an assortment of drugs worth RM810,831 and the arrest of two other syndicate members, also Myanmar nationals," he told a press conference on Tuesday .
