This marks their second consecutive early exit at the tournament. Pearly attributed their loss to the unpredictable nature of the Indonesia n duo's gameplay. 'Their game was very difficult to read, they are a new pair, I think that was the reason for our defeat,' she said.
This early exit raises concerns for national women's doubles coach Rosman Razak, who had previously warned about the challenges posed by newly formed pairings due to the lack of data on their gameplay. Another Malaysian women's doubles pair, Go Pei Kee-Teoh Mei Xing, also faced a similar fate, losing to another new Chinese pairing, Jia Yi Fan-Zhang Shu Xian, 17-21, 10-21.
