On April 14, a Malaysian man linked to the kidnapping of a teenage girl in Negeri Sembilan was shot dead by police in Klang.
The 21-year-old kidnapped the girl on April 10, and her family was later hit with a RM2 million ransom demand from the kidnappers.BERNAMA reported that Bukit Aman CID Director, Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, said the girl who was kidnapped in Seremban was stuffed into a suitcase before being taken away.
“Earlier, she and her mother had gone to a salon nearby. While the girl was walking to the store, 2 men kidnapped her, shoved her into a vehicle and drove off,” he said.Mohd Suhaily said the girl’s mother called her dad after the incident, and he went ahead and filed a police report. “Other than arresting 6 local suspects the police also managed to recover RM180,000 from the ransom,” he said.Police also seized several mobile phones and a metal detector, which the suspects were believed to have used to check if the ransom bag had any tracking devices.
