The Royal Malaysia Police has arrested a female delivery worker on suspicion of stealing parcels belonging to residents at an apartment here on December 11 Wednesday.
Iskandar Puteri District Police released a statement on Facebook detailing how they received a report from a 42-year-old man regarding the theft of a parcel that belonged to a resident of an apartment in the area.The Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M Kumarasan, said a police team responded to the scene and arrested the 38-year-old woman, who works as a parcel delivery driver.
The New Straits Times also mentioned that instead of delivering the parcel, the suspect took skincare products worth RM37 from the consignment. When the police arrested her, the police also seized the items from the stolen parcel, which included 2 bottles of micellar cleansing water, a box of wet wipes, and 2 boxes of lotion.A check on her background showed she didn’t have any criminal records, and a quick drug test came back negative.The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft in a building, which can lead to a prison sentence of up to 10 years and/or a fine if convicted.
