Hundreds of PayPal Holdings Inc. and Salesforce Inc. employees have begun to be notified that their jobs are being cut in California.
Hundreds of PayPal Holdings Inc. employees have begun to be notified that their jobs are being cut on the same week that Chief Executive Dan Schulman announced thousands of layoffs.
According to a PayPal PYPL filing with the state of California, the online-payments company is laying off 319 employees at its San Jose, Calif., headquarters. The filing cited a restructuring with “rolling” notifications from Jan. 31 to March 31. As required by law, effective dates will be at least 60 days from the date of notifications, and the terminations are permanent, the filing said.
