Paynet is accelerating the use of cashless payments amongst MSMEs this Ramadhan with the launch of the Cashless Bazaar Ramadhan campaign in seven states
across the nation throughout the month of Ramadhan. The campaign is collaboration with banks and digital payment platform partners and aimed at making cashless transactions top of mind for consumers by making it the option for customers at Bazaar Ramadhan.
“Preparing for a new year of Bazaar Ramadhan, the Cashless Bazaar Ramadhan campaign will work together with both our digital payment partners as well as the merchants to increase DuitNow QR touchpoints across these seven states to ensure efficient payment systems for the Bazaar Ramadhan customers. With more payment options, these merchants can explore the possibilities of venturing into a larger business model after Ramadhan and growing from a vendor at a bazaar.

Malaysia's Cashless Society programme records over 20,000 transactionsSince its inception in 2023, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s Cashless Society programme has recorded 20,035 cashless transactions as of February this year. Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said 2,740 traders were successfully registered during the same period. She said that the programme that started in Melaka last year has now been expanded to three more states, namely Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang. For 2024, the Cashless Society programme will be implemented in 61 selected locations (touchpoints) in three states, namely Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang.
