PETALING JAYA: Printing the names of passengers on ferry tickets sold online should prevent scalping, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said although there is still no law to allow the Marine Department to take action against those who resell ferry tickets, he had asked the department to conduct a passenger identity check to overcome the problem.

"Online ticket sales should benefit consumers, not the resellers who abuse this facility by raising ticket prices which will definitely affect the public," he said in a Facebook post on Friday . "I reviewed the sale of ferry tickets so that the act of illegal ticket sales by resellers does not continue to spread.
