ANOTHER policeman was caught on video by a motorist, this time, wrestling a motorcycle rider in Makati with two guns in his hand.
Col. Froilan Relenas Uy, Pasay City police chief, said the video making rounds on social media was taken last Friday. The policeman, in a white shirt, was identified as PSSgt. Marsan Dolipas.Uy said that the Dolipas of substation 2 Arnais should be 'given a commendation' instead. He said that the suspect was armed and Dolipas 'simply subdued the motorist.'Uy said that the act of Dolipas was a good example of stopping crime before it happens without anybody getting hurt.
Uy said, however, that they received a screenshot showing that the rider was wanted for using the uniform of a Philippine Army major and that the ID that he presented bore the name of one retired Maj. Angelito Rencio. Uy said an investigation is ongoing on the real identity of the suspect.Uy also reminded netizens uploading videos to put proper context.
