Pasadena’s late field goal allowed it to escape with its second one-point victory of the season
— Pasadena did it again.
On a night where Pasadena’s balanced attack put together long, sustained drives, the Bulldogs’ game winning drive was anything but sharp, espcially inside the redzone. Cabrales, who missed a point-after-touchdown late in the first-half, converted and capped off on the game’s most important drive, making up for all previous wasteful redzone drives that came up empty.
But the wastefullness in the redzone is where the Bulldogs’ problems stemmed. Pasadena had two drives that reached inside the 10-yard-line come up empty — a goal-line stop by the Cubs from its one-yard-line early in the second quarter and a nine-yard touchdown pass that was nullified by a 15-yard holding penalty.
